Admission Requirements

 

French Academy of Cosmetology admits full and part time student in our cosmetology, esthetician, nail technician and cosmetology instructor courses.  The state of Michigan requires that students must have proof that they are at least 16 years of age, but cannot apply for a license until they are at least 17 years of age.  Students must have a high school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) or an official high school transcript.  In this industry, applicants must be able to stand for long periods of time, work with chemicals, able to hear, see and use hands as well as follow directions.  All licensees must be of good moral character and be free of any contagious diseases.

 

Transfer Students will be required to pass a test administered by French Academy instructors and must pass at 80% for the hours they wish to transfer in to French Academy of Cosmetology.  Transcripts must be provided from previous school.  Hours are transferable at the school’s discretion.

Instructor course students will need a copy of cosmetology license as proof of completion.

French Academy of Cosmetology does not recruit students already attending or admitted to another school offering a similar program of study.

 

Class sizes are restricted to ensure proper student/instructor ratio.  Registration will be accepted up to one week prior to class start date or until class is full.  Early registration is encouraged.  Enrollment/registration fee must be paid with application to guarantee a seat in upcoming class.
